Star Wars Episode IX: Duel of the Fates
(AU) Luke is gone. Kylo Ren is the new Supreme Leader. The Resistance is all but decimated. Now, all responsibility falls on Rey to balance the Force and bring an end to this war. But as a relatively untrained Jedi, she will not be able to find balance in the Force when she cannot find balance within herself. With whispers of Palpatine's return, the Dark side has been growing stronger and stronger every day. Will she be able to defeat them or will the pull to the Dark be enough to turn her and cause a different ending to the war? *This is an alternative universe that takes place just before/during the events of the Rise of Skywalker. There will be some things that could be similar to the film, but I will be changing quite a bit. Reylo fanfic based on ideas for Episode 9 The rebels could first flee to a safe place and start rebuilding themselves. Rey and Kylo / Ben continue to have a strong connection but try to suppress or ignore them as both believe the other is lost. Then Leia dies and the dead of his mother plunges Ben into a crisis. Hux takes advantage of this moment, takes the power and tries to kill Ben. This one can escape badly injured. Rey is also weakened by Ben's lethal injury and finds out through the research in the jedi's books that she and Ben are inextricably linked by the Forcebond originally created by Snoke....
