Der Kapitän und Hüter der Quidditch-Mannschaft von Gryffendor, Oliver Wood, findet auf dem Quidditchfeld eine verletzte Krähe und beschließt dieser zu helfen. Von da an weicht ihm das Federvieh allerdings nicht mehr von der Seite, was ihm Spott und Hohn von seinen Freunden einbringt und er krampfhaft versucht dieses anhängliche, aber liebe Tier wieder los zu werden. Denn Quidditch lässt sich nun mal nicht mit einem Vogel im Schlepptau spielen.
