Sophie Rosegold - 34 years old.  First got pregnant at age 16 and was forced to give up for adoption, causing her to sink into depression and anxiety as well as discovering her sexuality.

Kelsy Araki - 19 years old.  Was raped and became pregnant at 17, giving her daughter up for adoption.  Acts like a crazy person but is actually really wise.  Lesbian and trust issues. 

Esther Rosegold - 18 years old.  Ends up in the foster system, forever looking for her birth mother.  Doesn't like talking to people and wonders about how she will find a real family.

Adrianna Araki - 15 years old, turning 16.  At the age of five years old, was taken away from her foster family after being mentally and physically abused. Bipolar. 

Anthony Valdez - 15 years old, turning 16.  Ran away from his foster family after being mentally and physically abused.  Trust and abandonment issues. 

Colorado, 1985 is a scary place for teenagers and young adults.  But when you form a family, you can do anything.
