Gwendolyn has had enough. When her mom goes too far one night, Gwen decides to get away before it becomes just a few bumps and bruises or cuts. Her dad's younger sister had extended an invitation for her to come live with her in Brooklyn, Mississippi. What happens when she gets to her dad's hometown? Well, to put it simply, all hell breaks out. A few dote on her, some are sympathetic toward her, and many act as if they want to bury her six feet under. How will she cope with feeling as if she abandoned her mom, the strangers hostility, and starting at a new school?
