We know his mother abandoned him, he was beaten in a circus, and he lived under the Paris opera house. However, there is much more to the story. After all, we don't quite know why he was specifically the "Angel Of Music" or why he chose Christine amongst all the other talented singers. Perhaps, he knew her long before she moved to the Paris Populaire.

Five years, five long lonely years. Everything was gone, his music, his life, her. Down below the ashes of the opera house he wasted away. Now the ashes were being brought up to another fine opera house. He didn't care, until a song played. A song sparked life into his lonely soul. I do not own Erik, Nadir, Christine, Raoul any other phantom characters that come up. I only own Ada, Denis and the father.

Elise has grown up at the Opera Populaire, and while her friends fear the mysterious figure known only as the phantom of the opera, she is not afraid, for the phantom is her father. Her guardian Madame Giry is the only one who knows the truth of her parentage. But as the phantom begins to cause more mayhem at the theatre he puts them both in danger. And when he kidnaps Christine Daae, Elise is forced to choose between siding with her neglectful father, and doing the right thing.
