He turned back to me as I took aim, "I want you to hit the morning glory in full bloom."

I narrowed my eyes and glanced at his self-satisfied expression before turning back to my target. I released all the air from my lungs and steadied my body staring down the arrow shaft and feeling the slight wind pull my hair. I pulled the arrow back further until I was confident and let it go. I watched it fly through the air and knew before it landed that it was a clean shot.

Without a word one of the soldiers retrieved the arrow and handed it to him with a perfectly full morning glory skewered on it. "Now," I said as I held my hand out for my arrow, " tell me what I want to know so we can both continue with our day?"

He regarded me with amusement, hiding his surprised expression, "I know your brother," he began and I felt my body relax immediately when he said know and not knew. He was still alive. "We trained together for years. He should be about fifty miles east of here taking care of a border dispute in Newpoint. And based on the many stories he has told me about his family I would guess that you are Winnie," he grinned at me mischievously.

I glared at him, guessing where this was going, and it was nowhere good. Before he could continue I lurched forward, grabbed my arrow and dropped it in its quiver, and returned my bow to its resting position. I pulled Hail around to leave but stopped, "If you see my brother before I do I want you to warn him that I will kill him myself if he ever worries me like that again."

I glanced over my shoulder one last time before clicking my tongue three times to spur Hail into a full gallop. I didn't really need this man, whoever he was, to tell Alek for me. I had made up my mind already of what I was going to do. I knew Alek wasn't coming home anytime soon so I was going to him. Joining the army as a soldier was the easiest way for that to happen and besides, it had always been a dream of mine.

I was born to fight.

Sequel to Jacob's neighbor We jumped ahead 2 years to see. Two people finally get back together. The friend group changed. Jacob no where to be found. An old friend moved to town. Blake making a move? On who though? Whats up with Mark lately? Then Someone getting in an accident? who? did they survive? Who looses their love? -- Some say the witching hour is 3am, others say 1pm, but how can it be witching hour if I'm not awake. I woke up at 5:30 am. My eyes held the status: bloodshot. I sat up, and thought to myself. I then got out of bed carefully, so Mario would wake. I put some slippers on and walked out. I made my way down the hall and turned into the nook where the entrance of the elevators were. I sat on the ledge of the window and leaned my head against the window. Admiring the view. "Can I join you?" A voice said. I responded instantly, by shooting my head off the window and in the direction of the source. "Sure" I said with a welcomed smirk. He sat next to me on the ledge. "What are you doing up?" He asked "I am pretty sure you know the answer to that from when we dated." I said with a small laugh "Nightmares?" He said smoothly. Like silk. I inhaled deeply at the thought of my last horror. "So, why are you up?" I said turning the subject around. "Couldn't sleep, so I came out here to watch the sunrise" He sounded so innocent. "I'm so sorry for everything I put you through." I said looking down "It's not your fault. You mentally got an ultimatum. You can't blame anyone for that." "I just don't know what to say. You've always been the sweet one to me. You treated me right. Thank you for being there for me." I said extending my arms. All he did was smile and accept the embrace. "I'll leave you alone to watch the sunrise." I said leaving him to the brightening sky. __ POV. I still do and always will...

"The fuck you are leaving me." His roar cracked through the hall like lightning. Ara didn't blink. She stood there, calm as death, done to her core. No tears. No tremble. Just a weary exhale as she turned her back on him - the one thing he never thought she'd do. Before she could take a step, his hand shot out, gripping her arm like he was holding on to life itself. "Where are you going, Ara!" His command shook the pack. But she wasn't his to command. Not anymore. Ara ripped her arm free with a force that made even his wolf recoil. "Don't. Touch. Me." Her aura slammed into him, cold and merciless. "You think I'll stand here and watch you mate and breed her?" she hissed, every word a dagger. His throat bobbed. "She meant nothing." She laughed - sharp, broken, brutal. "Yeah? That's why you were fucking her in your office? Couldn't even hide the scent of your betrayal." "Ara, it was a mistake-" She stepped closer, eyes blazing. "Your mistakes come in episodes, Alpha. Season one, season two, season three. You don't make mistakes. You make choices." He swallowed hard. "I don't need her. I need you." "Lies," she spat. "Every damn sentence you breathe is a lie. I can't even look at you without feeling sick." He flinched like her words physically hit him. "That female behind you?" she pointed, not bothering to glance. "Perfect for you. Go mark her. Breed her. Hell, fuck her for all I care." Her voice cracked - but she kept going, blade steady even when bleeding. "I don't need you. Not anymore." His knees crashed to the floor. The mighty Alpha. On the ground. For her. "Ara... I'm sorry. I'm really fucking sorry." His voice broke like he finally understood what loss tasted like. She stared at him with a sad, devastating smile. "Isn't it too late for that, Mate?" One tear escaped - and she crushed it away with her thumb. Then she turned. Walked. Didn't look back. But he didn't chase her. Because he knew. He didn't just lose her. He wrecked her.

I yelled as he got out of the car. "No! Our ending is nothing like those movies Vana. Our story is the both of us risking it all and then ending up right next to Kyle." He said and sighed. And he was right. Our ending is that one fucked up movie that no on wants to go see. "SO YOU AREN'T WILLING TO RISK IT ALL!?! I yelled louder as the rain came pouring down. He turned on his heal and stomped twords me pulling me close to him leaveing no space between us. His lips came crashing down on mine making the butterflies in my stomach errupt with pleaseure. He pulled away and sighed as did I. He grabbed my hand and ran his thumb over the knuckle of my thumb over my tattoo thanks to his stupid game of dare or dare. "Look at the perspective of things Vana. You might see a smily face but I don't. I see a sad face. You don't want my happy ending. Trust me." He said and sighed again. "I love you so much Vana." He said and kissed the top of my head and then walked back over to his house. But he didn't really love me. If he did he would be willing to risk it all just like I am. Jasper stiffens in his seat as I press the metal of the blade against his back. "Don't say a word. Come with me, right now." Of course, he doesn't listen. I had hoped a dagger to the kidney would be incentive enough, but even the threat of death doesn't graze a Devereaux ego. He turns toward me to argue, facing away from the goon that's been eyeing him across the bar. I doubt he even noticed. The man whispers something to his sketchy friend, pointing at Jasper. No time for discussion. I grab his arm and press the tip of the knife harder, just barely breaking the skin. He winces, realizing I mean business, and gets up. The idiot prince seems to finally get the memo, running alongside me until we're a safe distance away. "What the hell was that about?" his ragged breaths take the sting out of his words. I've never seen him like this before. Cheeks red, chest heaving, hunched over himself on the stump of a tree. For once, he looks like an authentic person. Of course, this is merely an illusion. Jasper Devereaux is an arrogant, entitled dirtbag, nothing more. I can't believe I just jeopardized my favorite trade spot for him. He demands to know why I pulled a knife on him instead of just telling him he was in danger. I explain to him that the reason for the dagger was glaringly obvious if you consider the way he acted when I did use it. If he was willing to argue with a blade against his skin, there is no way he'd have left that place in good hands if I hadn't forced him to. I can't help but laugh at the audacity of him to be angry with me for how I chose to save his life. "You really haven't changed." His head snaps up at this, and I see his eyes searching my face. Of course he doesn't recognize me. For me, it was super traumatic. For him, it was just another day. "What are you going on about?" "This isn't the kingdom, Jasper, these peasants aren't at your mercy." I see the blood drain from his face, and recognition clicks in his eyes.
