Young Sophie has always been an outcast. With her defining features she finds herself alone in a big scary world. Not quite alone, as her mother is always home. But things are wrong. Since her dad died her mother turned to drink and abandoned poor Sophie. Now she struggles to make ends meet as she continues to grow up. Then everything changes. Finding someone who sees her eyes as beautiful instead of hellish, Sophie begins to see everything in a new light. Could things start to change? Could she flourish with the help of this stranger?

An avarage teenage boy loses everything, his mother to an accident, his father to drinking and the only solace he has to his fathers fits, leaving him with nothing. A teenage girl rebells against her constricting parents, not wanting to put up with their behaviour anymore and is promptly kicked out of her childhood home, leaving her with nothing as well. Having ended up at the very bottom, they have nothing left to lose, but cruel fate intertwines their journeys, and now both try to navigate their new way of life together. Initially both are somewhat weary of each other, but more open and trusting as they grow closer over the course of their adventures
