In a small village, lies a cold hearted demon who was later named "Pheonix" The demon has a heart of stone. The pheonix cursed the land with disgrace and selfishness. People would fight over silly things or even kill each other for something that has no value. An angel made a deal with the pheonix, to leave the village with her as his 'companion'. The pheonix thought this was a pretty good idea and opportunity so he agreed. But as time goes on the demon seems to learn a new emotion,he noticed that he has fell in love with this angel. But as fate sees pheonix shall die for his wrong doings. The angel was just a bait to get to the demon. After all, angels has a sole mission which is to "Banish all of evil" but it seems that the angel also fell in love with the pheonix. With fate against them can they survive? The Lycan race is dying and there's nothing they can do about it but watch their race die out. Since then they have resided in a cave sleeping until they were disturbed by people roaming around. Awoken in a fit of rage the group of Lycans chased out the humans and killed them. Feeding off of the humans got them their strength back unless the host was sick then they would have to fight off the sickness themselves. They decided that the best way to repopulate their species is to breed any and all women. Now all that stand are five lycanthropes who have to adjust to the new world, feed without being discovered, and breed with women. Mortal women.

It can only be unlocked by the person who has the key and no matter what method is used, it cannot be broken. Cecilia would rather just forget the whole thing, refuse to give Ezekiel the satisfaction he so wants, and remain handcuffed to Maisie for the rest of her life. It doesn't take long to realize that it's just not possible. Maisie is everything that she shouldn't be in the human realm. Bigoted, rude, and annoyingly difficult. She can't even get close to Cecilia without making some sort of remark on how she can't stand Demons. As the time ticks down and options become less and less, maybe being handcuffed to each other will teach Cecilia and Maisie a thing or two about themselves. Maybe running from the past isn't the right choice and perhaps, maybe even a Demon and Angel could fall in love too. (Entered in the Open Novella Contest 2022 under prompt 79.
