The Drifter is a merciless rogue killer with more victims than she cares to remember. She travels the continent feeding her desire to feel blood on her hands and to strike fear into every soul she encounters. She is intelligent, quick, lithe and very deadly. Her skills and strength go unmatched until one day she is approached by a strange man. The stranger speaks to her and the young man she travels with about a greedy king who betrayed him and that he seeks revenge. If the Drifter helps him kill the king, the man will give her half the king's possessions, including ancient artifacts of Reance. Intrigued not only by his offer, but by the man who studies her like she studies her prey, the Drifter accepts and begins a journey that not only tests her survival but her humanity, or lack of. As her journey's end nears, the Drifters finds her dreams haunted by the ancient people of Reance reminding her of the past she had run away from and forgotten. "The end," they say, they scream. "The end! The end! The end is coming!" But what is the end?
