Her journey takes Cooper, and Maddock, a mysterious guy from her classes, from a life of normalcy at university, through the mirror dimension, to the cobblestone streets of Tuscany, Italy, chasing ancient relics and her blood family. An evil, long-covered up by the Speculo Sentry, is threatening, not only her and the Sentry but potentially the world. Set in modern times, the story unfolds with a nod to history and is just as much about where Cooper has come from, as it is about where she is going.
