The death of Rowen Singers father is heavy on the family but the sudden death is extremely hard for her. She never imagined that her introverted father would dabble in necromancy and human sacrifice. Their father was found having accidentally shot himself while cleaning a revolver, but Rowen is not satisfied with the ruling. She believes her father was killed, by someone...or something.
Her mother is a designer and is travailing out of country. In the desire for her daughter to not be alone in such sadden times, she sends her to live with her disowned gay brother, Anthony in Birmingham, Michigan. Her brother works as a nurse in the local hospital and gladly takes her into his care. She enrolls in the school and slowly unravels who her father is and her own legacy.
