Hunter is a normal teenager, with friends, a loving family and plans for the future. His life is going as planned when everything starts to spin out of control. He starts to feel strange pains all over his body, resembling cuts and punches, but only he seems to notice the inexistent wounds and the pain they hold. It is only when the boy is nearly convinced he is insane that a series of events unfold and he understands what is really happening: Hunter is connected to someone, someone who's in deep, deep trouble, and if he doesn't do anything to help, soon enough it might be too late for the both of them.

"Hunter Blackwood never thought much about death until it took something from him-something that made home feel empty, even before he left. Now, in a new country, surrounded by unfamiliar faces, he's haunted by what he can't forget. Moving to The United Kingdom was supposed to be a fresh start, yet all he feels is emptiness-until he meets her. A girl with golden-brown eyes and a teasing smile, someone who makes him forget, just for a moment, the weight he's been carrying. She speaks in riddles and knows things she shouldn't, and yet, she's the only one who makes him feel alive again. But as their connection grows, Hunter wonders if she's a figment of his imagination, a manifestation of his grief-or something.
