For war orphan Kalvin Kent, the answer has always been painfully clear; no length is too far.

Being one of the many children forced into a war that wasn't his to lose, Kalvin longs to erase everything about his childhood, from start to finish. The catch─Kalvin must aide the military once more in the extermination of the Sparrows, highly-evolved humanoid beings which are natives to the luscious world of Ephemeral, the only planet capable of sustaining acceptable living conditions for humans.

But when things take a turn for the worst, Kalvin is forced to decide which matters most; the loss of his painful memories, or the survival of an innocent species.
