When James gets a job at a relatively new newspaper as a photographer, he doesn't expect to have a partner. On top of that, he does not expect the journalist that he was paired with to be such a pompous brat.
None the less, he is paired with Thomas Jefferson and there is not much he can say to Angelica the manager to change it.
He mostly just hopes that he can survive this.
