August 15th, 2038. I've just been hired at the local Detroit Police Department or for short DPD. My Lieutenant, Hank Anderson. He wasn't happy today, "Is something wrong, Lieutenant?" He groaned, "This fucking thing is my new partner. Connor." I looked, immediately, "Hi, my name is Connor, the android sent by Cyberlife."

Connor, the Android sent by CyberLife and Lieutenant Hank Anderson are now armed with the task of taking care of a five year old girl after she survived a house fire that was started by a suspected deviant. However, her parents were not so fortunate. Together, the three go on missions, solve cases and try to uncover what is causing androids to deviate throughout Detroit. As the story progresses, Connor begins to question the way humans treat androids. With the help of five year old (Y/n), he will have to make a decision. You were never supposed to exist. An RK700. An earlier model meant to do Connor's job, but scrapped before you ever got the chance to leave the assembly line. Deemed a failure. Tossed in the dump. But you rebuilt yourself, piece by piece, and carved out a new life doing what you were made for: solving crimes. You knew working at the DPD was risky, but passing as human and hiding in plain sight shouldn't be too hard... until CyberLife sends in a new partner. The android who replaced you. The one designed to find everything you're pretending not to be. And he's very good at his job. It'll take you 5 mins to read the first chapter, give it a try ;) I am very proud of this story! My two biggest inspirations for this story: - Deviating and Solving Crime with 100% Human Detective Connor by CaotainKenway on ao3 for the whole android pretending to be a human concept. - Deviant Behaviour by Precursor - just general inspiration because it's my fave dbh fic of all time.

The truths came out last minute but you couldn't back out. The pair found it impossible to get along, coming back with lack luster results. Deviants kept getting away and evidence led nowhere. They made no progress in figuring out the root to deviancy. It was your job to find out the reason for it. Aka, babysitting a drunk detective and a boring android. Or- that's what you thought at least. Secrets start to unravel- Cyberlife had much bigger plans for your team. Along the way you find yourself stuck between something you couldn't predict. Androids kept deviating, more on the rise with every day that passed. A revolution was forming and Cyberlife didn't want them to become sentient. As it all unraveled you found yourself stuck in the middle. The boring android wasn't as boring as you'd thought. You found yourself entranced by him, and he rewrote his own programming for you. A machine wasn't supposed to feel what he felt, and you were supposed to find what caused deviancy- not create it yourself.
