Alicia was used to being invisible even to her parents. When Kevin Peterson, captain of the baseball team, showed interest in her she found herself in a whirlwind of teen hormones and the politics of the high school hierarchy. Popularity was never important to her, and now the whole school knew who she was. Life next to those at the top was much different than being invisible. Everyone has their secrets; unfortunately, Alicia's might cost someone a life. This story was originally written for a teen audience. Although many of the scenes are not graphic in nature I have turned on the Mature rating due to mature themes with young characters. Read below for a small sample. ["Kevin would never hurt me. He would never make me do something I didn't want to. I must have wanted it...or made him think I wanted it." She thought to herself as the hot water beat down her back. The blood scared her. The pain had scared her. Kevin had scared her. Kevin loved her. She knew he did. The way he held her. The way he talked to her. Keven cared about her, and it angered her the more she questioned that. If one act could turn her against him than he was right. She didn't love him as much as he loved her.] CoverArt was made using Wattpad Covers. Image was found using Google Image search. "So here I am, bawling my eyes out on my bed. I've got mascara streaming down my face, my eyes are red and puffy, I can't breathe, and it feels like my heart is physically breaking inside. I'm looking at sad, crush quotes and, if you couldn't tell by that clue, this is all over a boy: a dumb, horrible, most caring, sweet, funny, and lovely boy. A guy who I am absolutely infatuated with but will never like me back. He hates me, and it all started because of a stupid dare," ------------------------------ Lanabeth Valentine has never been one to turn down a dare, even if that means leaving a not so stellar first impression on the new guy at school. Entirely embarrassed, she plans to never speak about the event and avoid the new kid, Caleb Hunter, at all cost, which isn't easy when he's her next door neighbor and their families have weekly Friday night dinners together. Caleb Hunter has never been one to follow the rules, and after Lanabeth leaves a very lasting first impression, Caleb has made it his mission in life to drive Lanabeth Valentine insane. But as horrible as Caleb Hunter is, he may be exactly what Lanabeth needs at the moment. *this book is published on Amazon under It All Started with a Dare by Rachelle Díaz Valle This book is a sample of the completed novel available for sale
