Amethyst Rhodes, age 17, is currently a senior in General Rhys International High School alongside her two best friends Liam Atkins (who she is madly in love with) and Leigh Anne Williams (who is currently a junior).
Life would have been much better for her, but it all went sour right in the middle of junior high. All because of Ryder McCoy: the heir of McCoy enterprises. If her father had not become addicted to drinking and gambling after returning from his retirement from the military, then Amethyst wouldn't be in the hot mess she is now. Her father loaned hundreds of thousands of dollars from the McCoys and now her family is buried in debt and the only way to settle this is if she gets engaged to their only son?!
