Valerie Jackson has lived fifteen years being completely ordinary. And she is perfectly fine with that. Some people live the adventures and others read them. Valerie was perfectly happy being an innocent bystander, until the tables turn and she finds herself in the possession of a dragon egg. 

Suddenly thrown into an adventure story she never expected, Valerie scrambles to keep her new secret and somehow balance the daily struggles of being a teenager. 

But, life never goes exactly as planned, especially when you're a modern day Dragon Rider.

I would like to thank @frojhonson and @Beautifully-mixed for their help with reviewing this book, and giving me edit suggestions and helping me with the blurb of this book. I also want to thank @FantasybkLover for the constant encouragement for this, and keeping me accountable with updates.

I made this when I was younger and decided to release my old work into this to the world. I didn't plan a storyline so this maybe have crazy tone shifts. She only needs to imagine the place she wants to see and will be there. The princess though was being a jerk so the witch cursed the mirror. Making it so that the princess ever looked into it, she will become a fearsome dragon. "The princess will no longer be a princess and she will see the world she desperately wants to see. Her soft skin will turn scaled. Her silk like hair will disappear and be replaced with sharp horns. She will be the monster outside as that she is inside." Whispered the witch.

I grew up in a world where dragon riders were revered for not only their bravery and looks, but also for their intelligence. Children would spend days on end studying just in the hopes that they would get accepted to the Rider School, and those who did get accepted left their homes like kings, followed with respect and well wishes. It had been years since a dragon rider had been accepted in the Rider School from my town, which was understandable since we boasted a population of only 100 kids in the acceptable age range. Every year we were visited by the Counselor, the man who decided who would be accepted, and every year at that time our town lit up.
