Ben is the lone inhabitant aboard the Deep Haul Corporation's Portsmouth, carrying resources from the main asteroid belt back to Earth. He's periodically woken from the stasis-like sleep that helps him pass the months of travel time to and from the belt in order to keep his body from withering away, and also to perform a regular diagnostic check on the solar sail. It's a boring job ... usually.

Etho is a runaway, a stowaway, and most importantly, an alien on a human ship. Time flies by when you're sleeping
A massive alien ship and a human in a small pod, in cryogenic sleep, thousands of light-years away from earth. This story is a result of that thought. I didn't use any movies or series for inspiration, the story is my original work.
