"I know what you're thinking: what kind of self-respecting parent lets their kid hop a plane to their new boarding school five hundred and thirty-four miles from home? But it's not like that, I swear. My dad could only afford one plane ticket to Gainesville, Florida, for the trip to my new school, so we did what we had to do. Also, my dad doesn't respect himself, so that logic is a little flawed."

" The warmth from the sun outside reels away and the coldness overcomes my body. I look around and see a glass door with the words 'Main Office' next to it. Bright colors flooded my senses and a large banner with 'WELCOME STUDENTS!' hung from the ceiling in front of the main entrance doors. I pushed open the door to the Main Office and a big pudgy woman who looked to be in her 30's smiled wide with big red lips. Her face was caked in foundation and her brown eyes stood out. I knew that the moment I stepped into this school, I was gonna regret it."

Two girls arrive at a special school that is mysteriously like a fairy-tale. While one is primarily searching for answers about her mother, the other is merely looking to escape poverty. Their paths cross when they uncover a dangerous secret behind the purpose of the school, leading to the mysterious disappearances that come from the Alumni. When they realize that both of their mother's were involved, they join together with a group of friends to uncover the truth about Storybook High.
