After what felt like forever she reached the familiar path that led to her town. She followed it quickly, understanding the urgency of being out this late. She has been fully briefed of the dangers of the forest. Particularly those at night. Like most predators they would gladly go for the easy prey of a scrawny human girl.

She sighed a breath of relief when she saw the log formations of her village. She quickly walked along the path until she reached her small cabin. The door and widows were boarded up to protect against the dangers many only have nightmares about. She was glad to reach its safe confines and prayed her father would still be awake so she could get in more quickly.

She hopped onto the porch and knocked in the rhythmic pattern her father always told her to use. after a minute without a response she tried again but harder this time. The door gave way and suddenly the door was ajar, letting in a small beam of light onto the porch. Quickly she flung herself inside before slamming the door. What she found inside however terrified her to the bone.
