A girl named Lucinda has always done what she's been told to the letter and has never been asked what she has wanted. One day she meets another girl at the market named Scarlet who is very friendly, talkative, and just wants to be friends with Lucinda. Sadly Lucinda does not speak to her and her father tells Scarlet to go away and that she is being a bother. But instead Scarlet follows Lucinda home curious if she can ever make friends with her. Lucinda astonish that someone had disobeyed her father. She had so many questions, and out of curiosity why Scarlet did what she did. So she soon begins to break free from what most would call a prison.
