Gwen Speculum lives what most people would call a relatively normal life despite the fact she's living on an army post in an undisclosed location. She's a bit of a tomboy, has a best friend, and has a killer babysitting job for the local kids. So everything is going swell for her until The Glitch shows up. The Glitch is smarter than most people understand, and it's destruction seems impossible since almost everyone refuses to believe in it's existence. Everyone except for Gwen. The only hope for the post and the world is Gwen and a ragtag team of "Army Brats" and one charming boy named Luke to save people from the one thing they can't fight: themselves.

"Would you like to dance?" the boy asks me. I stare deep into his blue eyes, but I can't figure out who he is. He's tall with dark hair and the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen. I know everyone at this school, but with his features hidden behind his mask I can't tell who he is. "Sure, I would love to." Did I just say that? I agreed to dance with a random boy who I don't know. He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. We dance for a few songs and then he asks me, "Would you like to take a walk? I know the perfect place." I nod and he pulls me behind him off the dance floor. We leave the hotel and start walking down a little path. At the end of the path I notice a little fountain surrounded by candles. I wonder if he set this up. We walk over to the fountain and we sit down on the edge. "I had a wonderful time tonight," says the guy. He reaches to his face and removes his mask. I recognize him immediately. How did I not know it before? *** Carter Bennett has managed to survive her first 3 years of high school. Everything has been amazing... for the most part. She had her life completely planned out. An exact look-a-like, and offers a way out of what will undoubtedly be a very tricky situation. Sure of the truth in this situation, but somewhat distrustful of this strange girl, and the young boy hastily agrees to the proposal, it all feels very exciting, as if a big adventure was about to begin. But what if this strange girl is pulling a prank. Or what if this proposal is wrong or missing important details. How could an ordinary young guy like him end up in a situation like this? Time to find out for the better or for the worse himself. If this boy doesn't find out why he could end up in prison for years for something he doesn't ever even remember doing. Amid the huge mess her life has become, she meets Kyle, who is an agent assigned to her to keep her safe from her so-called clone. He is also the new boy at school that has an unadulterated hatred for her. Kyle is more man than boy, who has a cynical outlook at life, and a very black and white way of looking at things. As the school term ends and she graduates, Dayna finds herself having a very interesting summer filled with planning, strategizing, and an unknown attraction towards Kyle.
