L'ouvrage se présente comme un ensemble d'une trentaine de lettres, adressés à des personnages imaginaires, censés représenter une corporation, une catégorie de population ou un profil d'individus auquel l'auteur souhaite s'adresser.
A partir d'éléments autobiographiques souvent « romancés » ou même volontairement falsifiés, l'auteur a souhaité réunir des réflexions personnelles sur des centres d'intérêt qui ont jalonné ou jalonnent encore son existence. 
La forme épistolaire permet -dans un style direct et vif - de rédiger des chroniques sur des sujets de société très variés (religion, éducation, communication et rapports humains, banalité du quotidien, exaltation de la « performance », etc...). Des anecdotes à connotation humoristique permettent de donner au récit un recul susceptible d'interpeller le lecteur.All Rights Reserved
