Kids are going missing. There's no doubt about that. And no one knows where they're going. No clues, notes, evidence, or traces on camera; there's absolutely nothing to go on.
But when Zara Williams discovers something rather odd in the caretakers closet, things start to happen. Impossible things, like: travelling through time, stealing ancient prophecy books, walking through mirrors, encountering evil witch demons, and befriending Aisha Ahmed...
After making some new buddies at the Cat and Custard, an inn that is also an undercover haven for magical creatures, a terrible mistake whisks pretty barmaid Anne-Maria (who has her own secrets to hide), witch-hunter Wallace, and crazy wizard Wolfrid into the depths of time and space.
There's a whole world out there, one that Zara could never have dreamt of. It's magical, wild, and hella scary at times, with goblins, pixies, centaurs, mermen, and their angry starfish mates, like Ken, waiting right round the corner.
Everyone has a dark secret that they would give anything to hide, and with age old grudges held between ancient families, it is revealed that many are not whom they appear to be, and that some demons are closer than it would seem.
Zara and her new found friends from the dark past soon find out exactly where the kids are going, and for one member of the gang, it is especially hard.

Many are carved into cave walls, many are passed on by wise Elders as entire civilisations hold their breathes and wait hundreds, perhaps thousands of years for something or, more usually, someone. But this particular Narnian Prophecy was sung by the stars and held as whispers in the wind. This Prophecy took but days to begin. The Kings and Queens of Narnia simply couldn't understand why an untrained girl- Lilith, was her name- was sent to them amidst the dawn of battle. Lilith herself knew not what she'd done to deserve being thrown into the eye of a storm. But the Centaurs knew. The Fauns, the Dryads, the Talking Animals- each one of them knew. Lilith did unspeakable things as a guest of Royalty. She won the heart of an imperfect King, said the most unrefined things to incredibly refined people and even attempted murder within the Castle walls. Some people say, that the planet birthed death because of the deadly war. However, something else was birthed, an heir. Her name was Milia. She possessed true power and ultimately ended the war. Milia ruled the world and her children became the inevitable successors. Although they lacked Milia's gift, the future generation, though it was thousand's of years later contained Milia's powers. The children were named the true heir, therefore they were hunted. No hunter was more well known than the bitch, the baddest; Methaya. Being half human, half snake, her luminescent eyes turned the living into the inanimate. To save her children, the Queen of the planet rifted her children into Earth, where they lived for 500 years, unaware of their cursed destiny. After a prophecy declaring that the oldest would die, the truth started unravelling and they learnt things- that would change things forever.
