The Wolf Trials are a ritual in which a pair of wolves from each pack are selected to be entered into the trials. They consist of placing equal amount of females and male participants in the arena. Once they are sealed in they have one week to seek out and find a mate. The trials began in honour of the loss of the moon goddess, since her disappearance mates started to be found less and less. Now there is little to no chance of having a mate. 

The Generals daughter Ruthless is selected to be among the Kings elite selection of participants this year in the trial. As nobles and warriors alike compete for their chance at a mate.

As the generals daughter she is forced into the trials and has a week to survive the elements and come out alive. Ruthless had only one objective: 

To survive the arena and leave alone.   

All she wants is to become the greatest warrior. To replace the Kings general, to stand next to the King.
