Understanding Rome

Everything is as it always is. Nothing has changed, nothing new has come along.

Except, Cora now has a sudden interest in the boy who doesn't talk. The one who doesn't laugh when she makes jokes in that god forsaken art class. The one who seems to never look away from his work. Even when the bell rings and everyone rushes out, he lingers. Out of all the guys in the school, in the four years she been there, Rome has only ever been a passing figure. Why is she interested now?

No one in their right mind would say Cora is the perfect student nor would anyone say she's a saint but she manages to get good enough grades while still following every rule her parents have set forth. She has a good life, a normal one. Only boring every once in a while. So when Rome comes along, stirring up things and causing her to feel emotions she's never felt, for people she never thought she could, how can she possibly understand it all?
