When The Moon Goddess finds out that she is dying she begins the search for her replacement.
Finding Luna in an orphanage she feels an instant connection to her soul. She then brings the small girl back to her castle so that she can teach her everything she knows before she passes.
When Luna turns eighteen it is time for her to take her place as The Moon Goddess but, during her coronation she is taken by the one, and only, Shadow.

The beasts eyes follow her movement as she dips it into the water, wringing it out before slowly bringing it to his head.
When the beast sighs and leans into her touch, Luna smiles.
"You're not as mean as he makes you out to be." She coos, kissing his head.
