She has never seen a Vansae, in fact, no one in all of Level 5 knows what their true form looks like; all she's ever known about them is what she was taught in school: The Vansae were a vicious race of bloodthirsty aliens that invaded years ago. They killed in the millions, disguised themselves as humans and dismantled entire governments to claim Earth as their prize had it not been for the last effort of U.N that plunged nations into a nuclear war with the alien forces.

It wiped out 80% of the global population but the Vansae were gone, or so they thought. The U.S, now divided into Levels in order to better secure their people, mandates a human registration for all citizens upon birth along with the creation of the Armed Order, a military group stationed in every Level to ensure the purity of the Level.

Lucy Mathers is the third teenager approved to join the Armed Order after years of training. She has always been curious to learn more about those creatures but she had no idea she'd ever come face to face with a purebred Vansae - let alone one that would be asking for her help and whisk her away, leading her down a path that tests her bravery and curiosity for the truth behind the first invasion that no one remembers and her very own past.
