Her heart was beating so fast and her stomach ached so bad. She knew this was it, this was her fate being sealed. " Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? " It would be weird to ask the Imam a question like " Hey look. There was a really nice old friend of my dad's pestering me to be his third wife and I didn't want to go to Ogbomosho and his proposal came along and everything kinda rushed from there, so does that mean I was in my sane mind when I said...yes?" Surely some level of insanity meant she wasn't sure, right? Must the question be a yes or no answer? Can't it just be a maybe? Something along the lines of ' maybe I'll marry him 'cuz my heart is kinda telling me to but my brain's answer isn't forthcoming?' Wait...does that even make any sense? " Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? " She hadn't had breakfast but she felt like she downed a whole packet of laxatives with the way her stomach danced weirdly. " Zhulfah... " " Yes! Yes! Yes! I do! I do!" She said a bit too loudly into the mic, and was instantly filled with regret. She heard her best friend chuckle lightly behind her and she wanted nothing more than to give her a good beating. She glanced over at her husband to be in a few minutes, and her face heated up when she caught him smiling amusingly. " I mean", She cleared her throat. " I do...accept him as...as..my husband." " Well, I think I'll have to speed up the event and legalize these two", The Imam joked and the whole congregation burst into laughter. Zhulfah's face warmed up several degrees, and she was so sure her face would be burnt before the end of that day with the way she was blushing to a severe degree. The Imam was still laughing, and she knew it won't look like a joke much longer if she had a scissors to his beard.

Previously known as "The Ceo And His Hijabi" *** The night was dark. Ruthless and forbidden. It was like the murkiness was calling him in the arms of lurking demons, the demons which had always been there with him, teasing him mocking him. He stood before the window, looking down at the city, which was glittering as if thousands of stars have descended down from the sky, each scattering as far as a human eye could see. The tall buildings stood there, an aura of pride surrounding them, reminding him the consequences of the evil power that he had faced. His heart was beating in a sinful rhythm but the devil, oh the devil, he stood there in the darkness as if it was his own cloak, his own shelter. "Tell me this is a lie," The little Muslimah whispered. Her voice hoarse with emotions, her throat perched from all the crying that she had done in the past hour. The truth that laid before her had broken her. "Either you believe the artificial lie or realize the truth lying before your eyes." His voice was cold, devoid of any emotion. His mind but his heart, it was in chaos. A cry of pain escaped the Muslimah's lips but he stood there, unwavering, listening to the tortured soul. "How long? How long have you kept this from me?" She questioned him. Her green eyes held a fire which he had never seen before. It was dangerous because it could consume her, becoming the reason for her own downfall. He knew after telling her the truth there was no coming back but he was a man of character and no matter how comforting a lie is, he would always go for the truth even if it meant chaos.

Muhammad thought of Madeenah as a child, younger than his baby sister, although way more mature. She seemed to have created a bond with his daughter and that was all that came to his mind about her. Not her smooth caramel skin, or her captivating light brown eyes and neither did her sweet voice do it for him. Madeenah thought of Ya Muhammad as an arrogant and stoic person but a really good father. In truth she was terrified of him. She hated the way he would look at her, as though she was less important than him. She hated the way he never spoke unless he needed to. She hated the way his voice washed over her, making her shiver. She hated his height and how it made him tower over her small frame. She hated him but she just couldn't stop thinking about him. So what happens when the two end up being brought together by an unusual arrangement . He's older, she's younger. He has a daughter and she has barely begun life. Will he let go of the past and try to find happiness or will he drag her down with him? --------------------------------------- "Let's get married." He says with such a straight face that I feel stupid as I chuckle. "What did you just say?" I ask in disbelief. "You heard me Madeenah." He says in a gravelly tone. "Why would you want to marry me?" I shake my head. "You don't like me." "I like you well enough to be married to you." His broad shoulders shrug in his familiar black suit. What is going on with him? And what have I gotten myself into?

What if the love of your life doesn't love you anymore? This is the situation 22-year old Ihsan finds herself in, when her husband fills the divorce paper, and kicks her out of their home. In front of the childhood house she desperately fought to move out of only three years prior, she dreads the times she'll have to share meals with her divorced parents AND their respective spouses. After wishing her whole to not end up like her parents, it makes her feel empty to realize that she might have landed exactly there. For the first time since her husband, she is left to pick up her life utterly alone and it's not a good feeling. But things seem to be looking up for her when she realizes that their divorce might be a huge misunderstanding. Three months. That's how long she has before she loses him forever. She thinks convincing her husband to stay together will be the easiest thing she's ever had to do. Because after all, they are good for each other. But the more time they spend together, the more it seems like the love is one sided. Long gone are the fuchsia years after their marriage. Now it seems like all they do is sigh and yell around each other. Ihsan must quickly understand why her husband seems peculiarly frustrated with her. And the answer might just mean giving up on their love.
