Wake up. Lead the most vicious pack. Train them. Protect. Eat. Repeat. This has been Clare Patrova Waters life since the traumatic events that occurred on her sixteenth birthday. An under minded woman who is the second female Alpha in Lycan history. She leads the deadliest pack, making them stronger by the minute. But the second war stirs in the atmosphere, a trickle down effect of the sanctuary of her life becomes uprooted and the fight for survival brews. That's not the only thing she has to fight. The Lycan King. Or should we say her mate? * * * "The earth shook as thousands of warriors stood behind me. Wolves, vampires, and hunters working in unison to protect our realm. We all stood still, watching the black hole suck everything up in it's path. Yellow and green liquid spritzed out the portal, long black tendrils reached out and disintegrated the earth around it, marking the land as death... but the most startling was him. Matted, greasy fur, fresh wounds, and raven eyes slowly appeared out of the portal. My heart clenched as I snarled in distaste of what he has become. A traitor for a king. Thousands of voices tried to break my wall to ask me questions. They thought he would be fighting with us, not against us. I didn't have the heart to tell them. He was officially my battle now. Our eyes locked, and I was his prey. May the strongest warrior survive."

Adelaide was a happy young wolf, looking forward to the excitements of a wolf life. Their mate, their pack family, their own family. The joys of being half monster and half human. That was until the pack started whispering when her family would pass by. Some would cower in fear and some would bear their neck as if submitting to us. "We were of no power, we were hardly significant at all? Just a family of medium standing wolves in a normal pack far from anywhere of significance. Yet, we were watched, hunted, and inevitably... killed." Her voice comes cold, falls flat upon her ears not even registering the weight of her own words. Her pain long pushed away, packed in the small chest she keeps it in, never really knowing what had caused her the turmoil. His hand caressed under her chin and she regained her focus on him. He pushed at the tears she hadn't realized spilled over unto her cheeks. "Except you." "Except me, the survivor."
