We can't be together." "Why not?" Taking a deep breath I closed my eyes. "You know why. You and me," I gestured to him and me, "We're not the same." Bending down, I felt Khalis' breath near my ears. "Prove it." Being a maid was never a choice of Aima's, but she never complained about her work once. For the past four years, she managed to live her life just fine without Khalis around.
