Jonah is in danger. When he was six years old, he was abducted by a man named Gregor Asheville who seemed to have a strange obsession with him all because of his hair. This is the man abused and ruined all of Jonah's life, forever damaging him.
Later at age eleven, Jonah escaped, saving the lives of other children and setting fire to the building in which he was held in. Gregor was determined dead for many years after that.
Jonah remained in hiding, eventually graduating high school and becoming Sheriff to a small town. He stayed away from that case, avoiding it at all costs. But life likes to play mind tricks and a trail of bodies were found with his name on them. Literally. His name was carved into the bodies. He's on the hunt for a boy he calls 'Amber' aka Jonah.
Suddenly he's forced into an group with FBI agents on the hunt for the little boy Gregor has been searching for. If only they knew just how close he really is.
