A dream can be an outlet for imagination, but can it become a reality?
Cresselia has long held the duty of protecting humans and Pokémon in their sleep by giving them dreams of happiness. In her eyes, a small push in the realm of dreams can help lift anyone from sadness and put them in a better place. A dream might even inspire some to step out of their shells and discover a new calling.
The Lunar Pokémon often clashes with her counterpart, Darkrai, due to differing ideologies. Darkrai calls her naive, saying that nightmares are the only way to make humans and Pokémon alike prevent mistakes from occurring; Cresselia believes she sees the best in people.
However, one particular human forces Cresselia to come to a harsh realization. The dreams sent his way seemingly have no effect, as the boy takes them and makes them into his own narrative.
Dreams and nightmares can be powerful, but in the end, sometimes they just aren't enough to change reality.
