You know how the story goes, a young and beautiful maiden of royal descent is locked away in a tower guarded by a dragon. A young and noble prince comes and rescues her. But what if the princess doesn't want to be rescued? What if that dragon isn't the antagonist? What if the prince, in fact, made one of the worst decisions of his life? Princess Seraphina has lived her whole life in her hidden tower. She's grown up surrounded by only a couple servants and caregivers. Oh, and a fire-breathing dragon. Born with a deformity known only as the Flux, Seraph's parents, nobles in the high courts, hid her away in a remote castle to avoid the death sentence on those with her condition, a law set forth by the King of the time in an attempt to purify his growing Kingdom. Her "deformity" is what allowed her to meet and connect with the rare reptilian beast sometime in her early childhood, that led to her tower being "guarded" by a dragon. Nearly reaching her early twenties now Seraph's life is quaint and happy, her family of staff and winged-reptilian providing her with no reason to leave her hidden home. Until an encounter with a travelling party of Noblemen lead to unforgivable tragedy and the destruction of the only life she's ever known. Stricken with grief and burning hatred, Seraph is flung into a new world of hierarchy and discrimination she knew nothing about. She is armed with only her knowledge of nature, unyielding moral compass and grief-driven fury, this new empire is certainly not ready for the lost noblewoman to make her return. *Note* Is written in the P.O.V. of both the protagonist maiden and antagonist noblemanAll Rights Reserved
