14 year old River Sylone has conflicting thoughts on life, so conflicting she decides it would be better to not associate with other people, which leads to her parents having to take severe action. They decide to take her out of the unaccepting schools of Tennessee and bring her to a place where she had always dreamed of, California. It's her fantasy coming true until she finally understands why she never fit in and instead of having other people judge her, she starts to judge herself.
