Milana Stonewall has spent her entire life down in the Below, it's the only life she's ever known. Found as a newborn in the lift that connects the two worlds, she's never known where she's truly come from. 

But when her guardian, her best friend Pip's older brother, is taken from them for a crime they know he didn't commit, both Milana and Pip must use all the courage they have to leave behind the world they understand and venture into the unknown Above to rescue him. 

But then they discover that the new world they've entered comes with a lot of new answers, both about Milana's past and every Imperfect's future.
