Amatheia is the newly adopted princess of Thalaria, a kingdom of merpeople enclosed in a magic barrier. The barrier is meant to protect the mer inside, and to keep the humans above from finding them. She's always been curious about both the sky and the humans that live there, though, and with the help of an old friend and her new sister, she gets a chance to see it. When a storm rolls around, she gets more than she bargained for, ending up lost in an unfamiliar part of the ocean with no idea how to get home. She encounters new friends and enemies on her way, figuring out why the humans and mer are really separated, and maybe even ending up rewriting history.
