That is until they learn of the town's latest visitor - one whose origin and identity are unknown, and so is his seemingly impossible ability to appear and vanish. As the two become further involved in the mystery, the more they realise that they are treading on dangerous matters, ones that some people want to keep under wraps any way they can. I entered this story into a novella writing competition in 2013 for which it was shortlisted. I had developed it from an intial 2,000-word concept into a 10,000-word story although at some point, I'd like to revisit it and work it into something more fully fleshed-out.
