The secret seemed to be etched across my face, the words "traitor" branded on my forehead. I wondered how everyone would feel if they knew what I'd just done, if they knew the treason and danger I'd just committed myself too. If they knew that the helpless girl in the pink dress was something more than a background character. ... It's 1776, and the Revolutionary War is in full swing. Everyday men fight and die for their country on the battlefield, and people grow poorer and poorer everyday as King George continues to tax the colonies. But while civilians drop like flies, nineteen year old Rose and her family are safe in England and as close as ever to King George and his obnoxious daughter Princess Sophia. Rose has a life that one would dream of; endless money and luxury, marriage offerings from every suitor in town, and the privilege of having the royal family in the palm of her hand. Except there's one flaw to Rose's perfect life: she hates it. While everyone else is jealous of Rose's wealth and luck, all Rose wants is to return to her hometown Virginia and get away from Princess Sophia and her minions. But then Rose meets Fiona. She's leader of the Shadow Group, a group of overlooked woman who sneak information from the British and send it to the colonies. Desperate to escape her living nightmare, Rose joins and her luck starts to change. Soon she's secretly attending meetings and flirting information out of her chosen suitor to help her hometown; until the ultimate betrayal tears the group apart. Will Rose make it out of Britain and live the life she's always wanted or to persevere her family's reputation? Or will she crumble under the King's careful thumb and break free forever? The Exiled Queen: A Bolyne Story by AaliyahHamilton324
28 parts Complete Mature
In this reimagined Tudor saga, Anne Boleyn's sharp wit and defiant charm earn her not a death sentence, but exile. Accused of treason and adultery, she narrowly escapes the axe through the desperate intercession of Thomas Cromwell and the pleas of foreign ambassadors, who warn Henry VIII that the world will not soon forgive the blood of a crowned queen. Furious yet calculating, Henry spares Anne's life-but banishes her from England forever. With her young daughter Elizabeth torn from courtly luxury and thrust into exile, Anne flees across the Channel to France-the land that once nurtured her ambition. At the glittering court of King Francis I's heir, she finds both refuge and opportunity. Her French grace and English scandal captivate the courtiers; soon, Anne becomes a powerful player once more. Through a web of alliances and charm, she wins the heart of the widowed French king and rises again-this time as Queen of France. Meanwhile, in England, Henry's new wife, Jane Seymour, finally delivers the longed-for male heir. Yet Jane finds no peace. News of Anne's resurgence across the sea torments her, for England's queen lives in the shadow of the one she replaced. Henry himself, once triumphant, grows uneasy-haunted by the thought that the woman he cast aside now commands a rival throne and could one day turn France's might against him. As Elizabeth grows into a brilliant and cunning young princess under her mother's tutelage, Europe begins to whisper of a future alliance between England's lost heir and France's rising queen. Torn between revenge and forgiveness, ambition and survival, Anne must decide: will she use her power to reclaim the throne that cast her out-or to secure her daughter's destiny beyond England's reach?

He watched as her eyes skimmed over his dark eyes and black hair with barely a reaction. He felt his pride twinge a bit so he went further. Lifting his hands, he let the blood drip from them. Her eyes widened slightly and her chin rose. She looked at his hands then back at him. His dark eyes gleamed in a challenge. "You've not harmed me or mine, faery." She spoke out loud. "Blood does not scare me and neither do you. Keep your dog on its leash." Then she turned and calmly walked back inside. Intrigued now, he went to the window of the house and watched as she reassured her mother that the dog was gone "I'll see you tonight, reckless child." He promised softly. **** Marcus felt himself beginning to wake and struggled to stay in the dream. But it was no use. His eyes opened and he released the pillow his hand was gripping. It was the same one that she had laid her head on every night. His head went into the pillow heavily for a moment, breathing in her faint scent. He hated and treasured dreams like that with equal fervor. He rolled over on his back and stared at the ceiling. It had been decades since she'd been forced to break that promise. He lifted his hand and touched the ring that had been her last gift. It had been decades, but it was yesterday. ***I did not skimp on the steamy scenes so consider yourselves warned ok? There are also a few violent scenes that I'll try to remember to put a warning before so you'll have a heads up. Any of the pictures/artwork were found online so I reserve no rights to those just the story. But I do reserve all rights to the story. I glare at him, yanking at the bonds. He laughs softly. "Oh princess, you're so delicate. Do not struggle, we wouldn't want you to break, would we?" He whispers. I snarl at him but he's right, I'm sick and weak at the moment and the cold rain isn't helping matters. I turn away, coughing and choking on blood, but swallow it quickly, not wanting anyone to know my state. He smirks slightly. "Why are you so cruel?" I ask curious at his behavior. In the Castle I was kept away from the outside world by my parents, who told me of the dangers that lurk in it. However the servants and the cooks, who lived outside the protective wall of the Castle, always seemed like good people. "Cruel," he scuffs. "I am not cruel. Your kind is. Sitting in your castle, while families starve, homes burned to the ground because the blasted taxes are too high to pay. Cruelty, my dear Princess, is a word you and your family are all too familiar with." His words felt like a slap in the face. He can not be speaking truth. The kingdom loves my parents and they would never allow their people to starve. #384 in Historical Fiction 3/27, #361 in Historical Fiction 3/28, #312 in Historical Fiction 3/30, #291 in Historical Fiction 4/8, #287 in Historical Fiction 4/9, #285 in Historical Fiction 4/10, #265 in Historical Fiction 4/24, #256 in Historical Fiction 5/7, #225 in Historical Fiction 5/13. #218 in Historical Fiction 5/15, #119 in Historical Fiction 5/17, #112 in Historical Fiction 5/26, #95 in Historical Fiction 5/27, #83 in Historical Fiction 5/31, #67 in Historical Fiction 6/1, #53 in Historical Fiction 6/15, #26 in Historical Fiction 6/23, #20 in Historical Fiction 6/25, #16 in Historical Fiction 6/26, #13 in Historical Fiction 7/2, #10 in Historical Fiction 7/8, #5 in Historical Fiction 7/10, #12 in Historical Fiction 9/2, #13 in Historical Fiction 9/4, #7 in Historical Fiction 9/5, #5 in Historical Fiction 9/6, #7 Historical Fiction 1/8
