Project Sigma takes place 6 years after the beginning of Sin's Requiem in the Terran Empire on the North American continent.

The civil war for the North American continent has continued for 20 years. After the time of the fabled hero, The Enigma, the Agarthian Liberation Army (ALA) began its decline, losing key points on the Mississippi River, now called the Enrijian River, left and right. The warlord that became known as Grandmaster Zeus took over ALA territory by force and swiftly appointed himself as ruler of the land.

Note: The Enigma existed as a role model for soldiers to mimic. He was said to have appeared in times of great need and supposedly was the only survivor of The Battle of Hell's Edge somewhere in the Midwest. It was believed that he had been killed in action on an island in the Great Lakes region, causing the ALA to suddenly decline militarily.
