Twelve year old, telepathic, animal communicator Luki Sloan's parents are detective-scientists with World Endangered Animal Police Protection (WEAPP). Stationed in Wales, Alaska, her parents patrol the Bering Strait to protect the seasonal marine migration that bottlenecks there.
