Lima ran away from home to follow her dream of becoming an artist in New York City. Instead, she gets swooped into another dimension. Her only way of getting back home is working with a group of protectors, who've never protected anything or anyone in the past, and locating a mythical object that may not exist.

Enoch is the brain amongst the brawn of protectors. Little does he know, there have been tensions brewing in the Mainland Mansion. The main culprit? His younger brother, Theo.

As they embark on the journey to open The Eighth Gate, Lima and Enoch learn they must lose everything to gain their deepest desires. Even then, their desires are tested too.
