Clarke Griffin and Octavia Blake come from very different backgrounds, but that doesn't make them any less of friends. The way they see it, they're both prisoners and thank god they were, otherwise they would of never met.

The day Octavia Blake was caught and imprisoned was the day Clarke Griffin watched her father get floated and then also be imprisoned for knowing a secret.

When they're both put in the same cell, they realise that they really aren't that different. Octavia was put in prison for being born, Clarke was put in prison for knowing something she wasn't supposed to. They are both there because of things they can't control.

When they get sent to the ground everything changes for them, well except their friendship. That's the one good thing in their lives and they'll be dammed if they ever let their bond as bestfriends brake.

Octavia makes Clarke a little wild and Clarke makes Octavia a little wise. Together they balance eachother out.

They're the other half of eachother.

Bellamy sees how close Octavia and Clarke are, he knows how much Clarke has done for his sister. So therefore he feels this longing to protect Clarke, after all if anything happened to her, his sister would probably have a break down and never get over it.

But it wasn't just that, he felt this entirely different longing to Clarke. Sure, he'd been with his fair share of girls, but he never felt the way he felt about Clarke towards any of them.

He felt as if she's his other half.

The day Lincoln found Octavia was the day his life turned completely around, but not necessarily in a bad way.

He felt a connection to her that he'd only ever heard about in stories, he never thought he'd experience this feeling, but when he did, he never wanted to not feel it again.

He just knew Octavia is his other half.
