She ponders this letter for days until someone arrives at her house, causing quite the commotion. She goes downstairs to investigate when she sees a cloaked man, the only thing visible is his beard and twinkling blue eyes, she's about to let out a scream when he shushes her and asks for her parents; "w-who are you to be asking for my mum and dad?" Adelinda manages to squeak out, his reply is; "I'm Albus Dumbledore, and I'm here to talk to you and your mum and dad about your magical ability and my school, Hogwarts. Any pressing questions?" "N-no, I'll go get them" with that Adelinda ran into her parents' bedroom to get them to come downstairs and see the strange man that came out of their fireplace, because as skeptical as she may be, she is the slightest bit curious and would like to know if what this crazy man is saying is real, or a load of rubbish. Selene Laurier never expected to end up at Hogwarts. Raised in France, she had spent most of her magical education at Beauxbatons Academy, excelling in Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts. But when her parents had to relocate to Britain for their work at the Ministry, she found herself transferring to Hogwarts in the middle of the school year. Sorting was quick Slytherin. No surprise there. She was ambitious, cunning, and fiercely determined, though not unkind. What did surprise her was the housing arrangement. Due to an administrative error, she was placed in the boys' dormitory specifically, Draco Malfoy's room. Draco was livid at first. Sharing his space with a girl? A new student? A French girl who had no idea how things worked at Hogwarts? He made his displeasure clear, throwing cold remarks her way, expecting her to wither under his sharp tongue. But Selene was unimpressed. She met his arrogance with amusement, his biting words with effortless retorts. At first, they were at odds he resented the intrusion, and she refused to let him intimidate her. But soon, small things began to shift. Late-night conversations when neither could sleep. Unspoken understanding in shared glances. Draco found himself drawn to her confidence, to the way she carried herself with quiet strength. She, in turn, saw the cracks in his armor the loneliness beneath the bravado, the weight of expectations he bore. What began as a mistake a logistical error in housing turned into something neither of them could have anticipated. And as their feelings grew, so did the complications. Because Draco Malfoy was never meant to fall for someone who challenged him, and yet... he couldn't help it.

Breathing out, Hermione took his hand and said, "Valet in lucem." Draco wrinkled his nose, looking up at her confused. "Was that an insult?" Hermione rolled her eyes. "No Draco, it's an old saying in Latin." "Well I don't speak Latin 'Mione." She huffed. "I said, Light Prevails Malfoy, because it always does." Hermione thought he might try to argue with her again, make her red in the face with anger but Draco paused when he opened his mouth. She waited in anticipation. His features seemed to soften a little as he stared at the ground. When his eyes came back up to meet her, she thought she might get lost in his gaze. "Light prevails." Leaning in slowly, Draco kissed her on the lips and Hermionie pulled him in. -x- Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger are far from friends, they're barely even acquaintances and if the two of them had their way, they would not be spending their final year at Hogwarts as Head Boy and Head Girl together. But as fate would have it, or rather McGonagoll, they are the top picks to keep the students at Hogwarts in check and out of harms way. Though the two of them might have something to say about that. Regardless, both Draco and Hermione accept their positions and try to move on from their old rivalry, close old wounds, and try to form some sort of friendship. But sometimes the past can't stay buried and old grudges die hard and despite not having to defeat a Dark Lord, their seventh year at Hogwarts may prove to be the hardest one yet. "Must be tough, everyone loves you, don't they? So goddamn perfect. They don't see it but I do, Potter. I can see straight through you." "And what do you see, Malfoy?" "That you're a mess, aren't you?" She stared at him, rivalling his own expressionless mask. "You're the first person to say that to me." "Well of course," he swung a leg, pacing around her lazily. "Everyone is too busy seeing the hero, but when you hate someone enough, you see their flaws, their weaknesses." Her mask fell and she smiled to herself. "So you hate me?" She said, playfully. "Of course, isn't that what we do, hate each other?" The smile grew enough for dimples to appear. "I guess so." "So yes, I hate you." "I hate you too," she smiled. Draco couldn't help it, his lips tugged slightly at the corners while laughter stayed restrained in his glimmering eyes. "Good, I'm glad that's established," Draco announced. "We hate each other." --------------------------- A miserable childhood of neglect, Harper Potter needed someone to teach her the ability to love in order to overcome the darkest wizard of all time. She just wasn't expecting that someone to be the guy who taunted her every quidditch match. Featuring. Female Harry x Draco
