She was stunning-long, wavy hair and a smile that could bring a man to his knees. The moment my eyes locked onto hers, there was no one else. Not the party around me. Not the blonde on my lap whispering in my ear. Just her.
I told myself it was nothing. My eyes wandered to beautiful women all the time. But there was just something about this one that drew me in.
I needed to talk to her, needed to know her.
That's why, when the girl on my lap tried to stake her claim, I was quick to shut her down. But I was too late. The brunette was already gone-vanished like a fire had been lit beneath her feet.
