I have witnessed a plethora of dirty tricks being applied by unethical savvies in organizations. This had left me with a scar of a bitter feeling, that why such immorality exist in the first place? Are not we preaching to be "civilized" nations? Are not we promoting "Human Rights" as a way of living? Are not we wired to do the "right" things as human being? Or, because of the high stakes, power struggle and human tendency for greed, unethical tricks surface and need to be applied whereas used often so one can have an edge, even if that edge is granted temporarily deceitfully.

From my 20+ years of experience in the corporate world, startups founding, doing community works and even at attending my education classes, I have gathered a lot of these "tricks" and I made a vow to expose them systematically and publicly. It was with much humility I have finished my 1st ever publication and eBook about the subject. I called it "Un-Tricked Tricks".

It talks mainly about organizational politics and how to avoid them as much as we could and not being eventually a victim of immoral acts by some. It has more than 99 practical tips and tricks to conduct business in a more ethical way. You can find it on Amazon here:

Power is an illusion-crafted, shaped, and imposed by those who understand its nature. It does not belong to the strongest or the loudest but to those who control perception. You believe you are free, that your choices are your own, but are they? Every thought, every desire, every fear has been influenced, shaped by unseen forces. This book is not a comfort. It will not reassure you. Instead, it will reveal what has been hidden-the mechanics of control, the psychology of manipulation, the subtle hands that guide your every move. The greatest trick of power is making you believe you were never controlled at all. Look around. The world is built on carefully designed illusions. Politics is not about governance but persuasion. Business is not about value but influence. Even love, friendship, and loyalty are bound by unspoken power dynamics. Every interaction is a game-some play it, others are played. The most skilled manipulators do not force decisions; they guide them. They do not impose their will; they make you believe it was your own. True influence is invisible, a whisper rather than a command. Fear, desire, guilt, admiration-these are the strings that pull at the human mind, and those who master them control everything. But this book is not just about them-it is about you. You have been shaped, controlled, deceived. And whether you realize it or not, you have done the same to others. Now the question is: will you remain blind, or will you learn to see? Welcome to "The Grand Illusion: The Art of Power, Manipulation, and Deception". The choice has always been yours... or so you've been led to believe.

(18+ EXPLICIT CONTENT) "Attract a lot of attention, huh beautiful?" His voice hit me like a wall, absurdly catching me off guard. It was deep, sensual, something any girl (or boy) could melt over. I was sort of speechless, yet trying my best to appear unafflicted. "Only the wrong ones." That was definitely drunken me talking, as I didn't usually have that much confidence. His lips twitched up into a smirk, expressing that he understood my comment. "Does that mean that I'm in that category?" My palms began to grow sweaty and my heart rate picked up, but otherwise my body remained relaxed, appearing completely fine. It similar to when you're on autopilot, completely withdrawn due to intoxication. "I suppose not," I crossed my arms, putting on this seductive persona just for him. This fueled his smirk, about to murmur another comment before I cut him off. "You'll have to show me, though." *** Amelia Hollis was a 23-year-old writer at one of the local publishing companies, assisting a very handsome man and writing articles left and right. Her and her best friend, Aviary, lived together in a cute little apartment off the central part of the city, yearning to create new memories and important moments. Amelia always lived for the moments, taking in every little detail and savoring it like it was her favorite meal. She was an optimist, hoping to change peoples lives with her dreams. James Vallette was a 34-year-old CEO, building his company from dirt with the help of his brother. He was a realist, not really having time to deal with dreams or even love. He knew this the night he laid eyes on Amelia. It was only casual; what harm could a one-night stand do? Oh yeah, he's her dad's boss.
Petra's Passage by MaitreyaTheNovel
23 parts Ongoing
Petra Palmerova is a native of the Czech Republic who came to the United States in 1998 drawn by the magnetic allure of achieving the promise of the American Dream. After working a variety of manual labor jobs, Petra was still unable to make ends meet. When her visitor's visa expired, Petra decided to stay at least long enough to save a nest-egg to bring back home and use to start a new life there if not in America. When a relative got sick and Petra didn't have the money for plane fare, she took a friend's advice, went with her to a gentleman's club, and not only did she earn the money she needed in a single night, her professional and personal life would never be the same. Now Petra had money to pay her bills but without citizenship status she faced limitations at every turn. Her purpose in writing this novel, Petra's Passage, is to encourage the reader to replace the cold, threatening polarizing political talk about illegal aliens with at least this one gripping human interest story, based on her life. Petra hopes to have Americans experience the personal face of this issue and in so doing learn they have nothing to fear from undocumented aliens. And more than that, realize that these very people form the labor backbone of much of the low-level manual work that takes place in America. You don't always see them, but these are the workers who harvest our crops, cook the food in our restaurants, clean our homes and offices, provide day labor at construction sites, drive our cabs, take care of our children and senior citizens, put new roofs on our houses, manicure our lawns, and so so much more. It is Petra's wish that one day soon a collective political voice will rise up and force much needed reform to our immigration system which currently leaves millions like her in limbo, unable to realize their personal potential or their potential benefit to the United States of America as productive, morally upright, law-abiding, tax-paying citizens.
Throwback Vol. #1 (Violent Faith) by MDStephens

In light of readers telling me how much they enjoyed the short story collection, "Strange Mutations (one man's trash)", I decided to dig deeper into that old, smelly trash-bin and see what else I could scrounge up. So, readers beware, I will be publishing a slew of old stories under what I decided to call- "The throwback series". I needed to find a way to segregate these stories from my current writing because what's presented here are some rough drafts that spawned from an amateur who was just beginning to dip his toe into the world of literature and didn't have the slightest clue what he was doing. But don't run off!!! As long as you don't expect a bestseller, and keep an open mind, you may be surprised to find something you enjoy about these twisted tales. I do this only because I find it fun to go back as see how much I've grown as a writer from where I started, and only hope you have fun with them as well. Just don't hold it against me. I'll think you'll find a big difference in prose and style if you check out some recent stories under my profile. So first in the Throwback line-up is... Violent Faith. He has his sloppy moments, but if you stick around long enough, he just might surprise you and occasionally knock one out of the park. The title of this novella pretty much covers the plot, so sorry, no description really necessary. I was inspired to write this story after reading Jon Krakauer's novel, "Under the banner of heaven", which was based on true events. My story, however, is completely fictional. It is not meant to be an attack on any certain person or religious group, although it may seem that way at times. I was just having fun. I'm well aware that most Mormons are not psychopaths. It was just a fun theme to play around with. All persons, places, and events are nothing more than my imagination and not to be taken seriously. If you knew me, you'd know I should never be taken seriously. Cheers!! your friend, M.D. Stephens

Mercenary Work Book #1 "My world and your's are complete opposites. Your's consists of men that follow the rules, do as their told, and stay within the boundaries of reality. Mine is quite different. Men kill for money, murder for fun and are loyal to no one. I am one of these men, you will most likely find me repulsive. Though I've heard that there are men in your world that are just like me. I find that hard to believe, I am much worse." The Court Of Mercenaries. They are all both men and women of any race. For the right price, they will do next to anything. Recognizable by the sheet metal hung around their necks. Each Mercenary holds a name and a necklace of their own design. Five out of the thousands of Mercenaries there are, hold a special stone with them, at all times. They are to make sure that the Mercenaries, stay Mercenaries. Rule one and the most important of five: Do not kill anyone not affiliated with the job at hand, "We are Mercenaries, not murderers". Jackson, a Mercenary, been one since he was very young. He is a man that has gained, and earned, respect, to the highest degree. If someone doesn't know who he is, they'll learn. Very, quickly. So will you. So first things first I love being vague so if you don't understand what I'm talking about or something it will probably be explained later so stay with me. Secondly first chapter is complete shite, I would change it but I'm lazy and it sets up my characters so I'm not just gonna delete it. So read the first chapter for the plot and please continue to the second if you still don't like my writing then you can leave, that's all I'm asking. So that's all I got to say so I'm gonna get on with it. Also I swear a fuck ton so if you don't like swearing get out.

Alas look a ghost, be careful you're not toast, you must want to see what I see. Society is ruthless, protection is fruitless, for in madness is when you are free. Perfection is dead, from the wounds we all bled, a cruel fate we did not foresee. While outsiders are safer, if only by a wafer, you can still hear them utter a plea. [STANDALONE] Warnings: *Story moves kind of fast but oh well *Includes sexual content aka SMUT ~ "Mhm." I hummed out. He moves the fabric of my thong out of the way, positioning two fingers at the entrance ready to shove them in before the car door opens. "Get out." Sebastian pulls me off of his lap. "What the fuck? Who do you think you are?" The guy from the diner yells getting out the car too. Ah shit I didn't even get his name. "Get the fuck out off of my property or I'll kill you." Sebastian threatens. Diner guy's eyes widen as he gets in the car and drives away. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I spat at Sebastian who had already turned around and started walking back to the house. "I told you I forbid you from having sex with any other men." He replies. "You can't forbid me to do anything. You don't own me." I argued. He turns around smirking at me. "Technically I do." "Well I don't care. I'm going to do whatever I want, with whoever I want-" He grabs my throat and pushing me against the door. I stared right into his eyes. I didn't see anger, I just saw lust. "You're not going to do anything with anyone because I'm gonna make sure you don't. You're mine princess. All mine." He whispers possessively into my ear. I could feel my insides twisting and turning. I was already turned on and now I'm turned on even more. He flips me around so that my back is facing him and arches my back so that my butt is against him. He pulls my dress over my butt placing his hand gently on my butt rubbing it before slapping it. "I will punish you if I catch you having sex with anyone." "You won't do shit." I said but it came out more of a whimper since he slowly slid his hand down to my core cupping it. He uses the pad of his thumb to rub my bud and slides it between my wet folds. "Try me." He said and with that he turns around and walks into his room. ~ 100k: 05/18/21 200k: 09/15/21 300k: 12/18/21 400k: 03/01/22 500k: 05/2022 600k: 08/2022 700k: 2/23
