With strength unbeknown to me, I saw him deliver a fatal blow, strong enough to kill upon impact. I stood still, frozen in place, watching as the shadowed figure crumpled to the ground with a thud. Then his eyes flickered to mine. I could see the angry in them; burning angry- but not towards me, towards the fallen figure at his feet. In that instant, every feeling and every thought I ever had towards this boy, was wiped clean from my mind. Any doubt I ever had in my mind seemed to clear almost instantly, and a feeling of relief filled my entire being. I'd never felt as safe as I did just now. But as I looked deeper into his eyes, my relief shifted into something else. Something foreign to me, and it left me feeling as if a cold towel had been draped over my shoulders. Who was this boy really? Or more importantly, what?
