Caylin grew up a simple merchant's daughter in the town of Withermoure with her mother Brianne and father Paul. By day her father sold parchment, quills, ink, sealing wax, and other assorted items used for writing, but at night after a long day at his shop he'd go off to the town's tavern for a drink and to listen the adventurers passing through. After a drink or two he'd return home to his wife and daughter. As he'd tuck her into bed at night he'd retell Caylin the stories he'd heard from the adventurers at the tavern making an already curious and rambunctious girl even more so. The more she heard from her father the more she dreamed of having epic adventures like those from her beloved bedtime stories. She dreamed of fighting dragons, finding treasure, and rescuing the people from the missing posters on the boards at taverns...

Can she deal with his demons? Will they accept each other as mates? Story excerpt "Titan!" Dad yells at him. Titan... it's a strong name but it doesn't feel quite right. He jumps up and pulls me into his chest. "Let her go boy." Dad says and I can feel his growl shake my chest as he holds me tight. "Mine!" Titan growls dipping his head to my neck and breathing deeply. "Come on Meme." Dad says holding his hand out to me. He looks worried. Will Titan hurt me? I thought mates couldn't hurt each other? Titan pulls me tighter to him. "Titan! Let her go! You're hurting her!" As soon as dad says that I feel Titan loosen his grip slightly. I turn so that I can look up at him and place my hand on his face forcing him to focus on me instead of my dad. When he finally looks in my eyes he seems worried. "I'm ok." I whisper trying to calm him... "you can let me go." He growls again and seems to panic at the thought of losing me. "Mine!" Titan says. Dad tries to reach for me. When Titan sees his movement he pulls me away from my dad and growls again "Mine!" He says desperately trying to keep me close to him. "He's my dad, Titan... he won't hurt me." I try to soothe the beast. I don't really want to let him go but I know if this goes on much longer Titan will get hurt. "Mine!" He growls softly, nuzzling his nose into my neck. "Yours." I whisper pulling away so I can hold his face. "But I need to go to my dad right now... please Titan." I beg him. He looks over to my dad who is still holding out his hand expectantly then looks back to me. With a nod he let's me go and I take my dad's hand. "Take him!" Dad commands as he pulls me away. Many men tackle Titan to the ground.

Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!
Balotelli Bale Series Book #7: My Father's Daughter by jmhallewell
35 parts Complete Mature
How many girls has your mother introduced you to over the years?" "Several." I answered. "And you rejected them all to chase a Bale. Is it worth it?" Yes. It is. But no one wants to hear that. Madeline is not like the rest of the girls I've been introduced to. Yes, she's from a wealthy background but she is not stuck up! She's real! Will I see her again? Absolutely yes! I'll probably lose my other hand but she's worth it! "I'm not going to answer that, sir." "The Bales had their shot when Nathaniel Bale was to marry your grandmother. He failed to honor the arrangement. They will not get another chance with a Pallis. I forbid this whim between you and that girl! You are not to see her again! As we speak, your apartment is being cleared. You will reside here in Athens and finish yoyf studies here! You are never to go back to America. Do you hear me?" "I like her." "Did you hear me Ares?" His face is red with rage. "I said I like her." We stared off. Both father's disapprove. This ship sank before it left the shore. Maddie and I are busy scooping water out of it while our fathers poke holes into it. It's destined to fail. To doom. But what if we fight destiny and make our own outcome? What if we write our own ending? "Ares, if you do not cease this foolishness, I will disinherit you." Ye brushed shoulders with me, leaving me standing alone outside. I'll possibly lose my life and now even my inheritance is threatened. Is Madeline worth all this trouble? Yes she is. Let the chips fall where they will. I'm not giving her up.

Hi Readers, Before you read this book, I just wanted to say that I am currently in the process of rewriting this story. Changes, whether they are big or small will be applied and things will most likely be cut. I am looking towards making this story more consistent since its not evident in the first draft. I hope that you will continue to support this story nevertheless of the changes made. Kindest Regards, Christine *** Prologue "She's here! We've found her!" The girls parents came racing over to the river bank that separated the two werewolf packs. "She's not breathing! Why isn't she breathing?!" The man pushed the woman out of the way gently and leaned down to check the young girls breathing. He put one hand on the girl's chest and started compression. He checked the girl's breathing again and continued with compression. The girls started to cough up river water. The man pulled her swiftly to her side so that she could expel the rest of the water out through her mouth. "Oh, honey!" the woman gathered the girl up in her arms and squeezed. The girl looked around disorientated. There were strange men and men from her own pack standing around her. "What happened?" She murmured. The woman looked down at her daughter with tears flowing down her face. "You nearly died." *** *Check out the rest of the prologue for more* #1 HigherPower #1 EpicBattles 2# Flames 2# PackMates 36# Power Copyright © All Rights Reserved 2020 NeoNixButterfly21/Christine Copyright © All Rights Reserved 2021 NeoNixButterfly21/Christine Copyright © All Rights Reserved 2022 NeoNixButterfly21/Christine ~ All chapters hereafter are protected by copyright. (Part 1/3 of Discordant Note) (Part 2: Discordant Note: Crescendo | TBATE) Lady Dawn expected to die. After casting her soul to the wind, taking a one-in-a-million chance to escape the wretched dungeons of Taegrin Caelum, the once-caged songbird of the Asclepius wishes nothing more than to find her Hearth and warn them of the coming danger. Instead, she's found herself a shade, anchored to a young man who knows far too much-and with far less hope than she'd started with. Toren Daen, for his part, only wanted to make it home safely. Now he's in a world taken straight from the page, questioning what is real and what is fiction, and scrambling to make something worthwhile. And with his foresight, there's only one way that Toren can see to keep this new world safe: prevent the descent of the Legacy. But those in power will not make it easy: Nico Sever is in a league of power all on his own, and Arthur Leywin bears the burden of Fate a continent away. In this familiar-yet-not world of mana, monsters, and looming deities, any misstep along the roads of Alacrya and the High Sovereign's Dominion could lead to a Fate worse than death. But what is death to a phoenix? With a burning secret in his mana core, knowledge of the future, and a maelstrom of fears and questions, Toren might just survive to be more than what Lady Dawn expected him to be. He might just survive to waylay the encroaching tide of war and death in the proxy war between raging asura clans. More than all of that, he might just live. "It is time for you to find a suitable lady to marry, don't you think?", my mother comments. Our feast has nearley started and I have already had enough. "Not something I occupy myself thinking about.", I comment, not sure if the told lie was for her, or for me. "Stark girl is looking for a husband. Talissa, if I remember correctly. I think she would be a good fit for you.", she persists and I chuckle, "A good fir for me yet you barely know her name." She opens her mouth to speak but I decide to put a stop to this annoying conversation, "A wife is something I do not need nor desire at this moment. If my dearest sister becomes queen my martial status will be the last thing to keep you up at night." My mother looks at me, "That won't happen, I assure you." Helaena touches mothers hand, taking her attention away from me. I tab my middle finger on the wooden table a few times, lifting my eye to find the person that has been, to my discomfort, taking a fraction of my mind lately. She's talking to Damon, a smile painted across her face as she rests her chin on her hand, carefully listening to him talking. It took some time before her eyes swiftly shifted from his face to mine and the realization of me looking made her drop her arm and straighten up in her seat. My attention made her visibly nervous. Few moments later she stood up and, without thinking, my body did the same. I start walking, making sure I don't loose her in the crowd. I am playing a dangerous game but it is something I simply can not seem to resist. ***** When Damon Targen finds an old broken amulet at his deceased grandmothers house, he asks his friend and co-worker Emma for help in finding more about it, but what they discover will lead them down the complicated path of his family tree and history, eventually getting them trapped in a world they know little about ...a world where war is about to break out and every small move you make decides if you will live or die.
