"Hi, wifey". That's what he called me. I never would've imagined for this to happen. I was scared of him, but I didn't let it show. "I'm not your wife", I announced. His smile vanished and he glared at me. "You don't have a choice now", he said getting closer. I took a step back and realized I am standing on the edge of the 30th floor of the building that was under construction. He took a step towards me again. "Stop" I commanded him. His bodyguards were shaken but he didn't listen. "Just give me 2 minutes" I begged him. I felt bad for myself, I hate being powerless. I didn't want him to take control of my life. "Fine but you can't move", He said to me, as I took out my phone to call my lawyer, who picked up the call on its 2nd ring. "Mam?" he said, his voice laced with confusion. "Transfer all my properties and the letter to my partner. And say that I apologize for my mistakes which separated us", I said. "Understood mam" his voice was hoarse, I hung up the call. His eyes widened in shock, and then his expression turned into anger. "Do you think I'm coming back to you for money?", He voiced his frustration. I didn't respond to him, I called my brother. "Who is this?" He questioned. I thought how will he feel if I said that his sister whom he taught was dead, was not dead, but is gonna die in a few seconds. "Brother, you are gonna get lots of money they are all earned by me, legally. So you won't have any problem. You will not hear from me again. According to our parents, I died 5 years ago. Now I am going to leave you alone with another family member as your responsibility, take care and I am sorry", I said. I heard him crying over the call. I don't know whether it was happiness or sadness. He took a step towards me. I glared at him and took a step back. 'Just one more step, I can fly as I have always dreamed', I thought. 'Away from everyone'.

"𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒆, 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔" •••• "Don't lie, Amisha. I'm sick of these lies. And if you're so sure that you didn't cheat on me, then fine, let's move on to the next step, prove me you didn't cheated on me" he said, and she frowned in confusion. He realized she didn't understand his intention. "Get intimate with me, tell me that you love me, and I'll believe you. I'll believe that you're telling the truth," he said, or more precisely, made an offer. She couldn't process his words. Her heart broke as she listened to him. •••• His expression darkened, pain flickering in his eyes. "Kya kami reh gayi thi, Amisha? Sab kuch diya tha tumhe... apna dil tumharee kadmon mein rakha tha. Fir bhi tumne yeh kiya?" His words came out in a choked whisper, his composure slipping. (Was there anything I didn't give you, Amisha? I gave you everything... I placed my heart at your feet. And still, you did this) Tears gathered in his eyes, though he struggled to maintain his demeanor, reminding himself he couldn't afford to be soft. "You're hurting me," she whispered, her voice cracking slightly. His eyes flickered with guilt, but he didn't let go. "And what about the hurt you caused me?I loved you, Amisha. I gave you everything. My heart, my soul... everything. And still, you didn't choose me." Tears welled up in her eyes. "You should have looked into my eyes once, it was always you Vivaan. But your jealousy... your obsession... it's destroying us."
